Puddle Duck Hatch |
No one on my team can be sure we can get that Friday off, what happens if we all have to work? Not a problem. In a pinch a team can start anytime on Friday. If your team can't get there until 5pm That's Ok, but you still have to get your hull 3D the first day. What that means is you may have to be there until 11 or midnight. Your going to have a short night, and somethings will be added to day 2's activities. It's doable, but not the prefered method. What is the entry fee? The entry fee for the Second annual Puddle Duck Hatch is not yet fixed. Check back around March 1st. What does it cost to build the whole boat? The entry fee provides all material you will need to build a finished boat, including paint and sail material. Items not included in the price but manditory: PFD's must be worn on the lake. Items it might be good to have: Check under the Kit page. Having your own hand tools is a good idea. Some tools will be available but we can't be sure how long the lines to use them might be. How many people can sail in a puddle duck race? A Puddle Duck can displace 630 lbs. Most races don't mandate a crew number, some do. The most common number of crew is 1 but 2 is more fun and I've raced with 3 . At the Hatch one of the races will be a relay race where every member of the team will have to sail a leg. The first race, before sail or mast is raised will have the build team paddle their boat with all build members in it. Bonus points if you can complete the course with all 8. |
